This is the best way to make flavorful air fryer french fries. Get crispy, crunchy french fries that taste just like deep-fried french fries minus the oil.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes, 500 grams

  • Oil, 2 tsp

  • Red chili powder, 1 tsp

  • Paprika, 1 tsp

  • Chicken powder, 1 tsp

  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  • Peel and cut potatoes into ¼” inch strands. Rinse under cold water. Optionally, soak for 15 minutes.
  • Boil the potatoes until cooked through.
  • Drain water and let the cooked potatoes dry.
  • Toss the cooked potatoes with red chili powder, paprika, chicken powder, and salt to coat them evenly.
  • Add half of the potatoes to the air fryer and drizzle 1 tsp oil over them.
  • Cook the fries for 20 minutes, tossing halfway.

Notes

  • Boiling the potatoes before air frying ensures all fries are cooked through. The fries cook faster this way which results in lower cooking times.
  • You can store the air fried potatoes in the fridge for 3-5 days.
  • To reheat refrigerated air fried potatoes, toss in the air fryer and cook at 180°C for 4-6 minutes.
